We stared out exploring old abandoned mine shafts and adits in the 1970s some at the age of just 7 years old others at the age of 12. Our small  group Consists of about 6 to 8 people who enjoy rock climbing abseiling down shafts or simply walking into adits. Since then we have found over 700 different old mines sites throughout Victoria manny not known about for manny years. We intend to record victoria's mining history before the shafts and adits get backfilled or naturally caved in over time. We also sometimes dig the entrances out of caved in adits back out. To unlock the history behind them and as a side note we draw up basic mine maps of the mines we visit. And sometimes sample old abandoned mines for gold but haven’t struck it rich yet. we also love seeing the old treasures and relics like the old stamp mill batterys and the long and deep old mine workings you see on our website and page left behind  by the early gold miners of victoria's early mining days from the 1850s onwards.
